Abstract
Magnetostrictive materials are characterized by a strong coupling betw een magnetic and mechanical phenomena, The modelling of magnetostricti ve thin films using Finite Element Method is investigated, and two str ong coupling formulations are proposed, They allow to take into accoun t the material's nonlinearity as well as the magneto mechanical coupli ng. The first one is using the H(B,sigma) and sigma(epsilon,H) charact eristics in order to achieve the coupling, the second one directly use s the lambda(H) curves and enables an experimental validation.
