M. Kaltenbacher et al., AN EFFICIENT CALCULATION SCHEME FOR THE NUMERICAL-SIMULATION OF COUPLED MAGNETOMECHANICAL SYSTEMS, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 33(2), 1997, pp. 1646-1649
A recently developed modeling scheme for the numerical simulation of c
oupled magnetomechanical systems immersed in an acoustic fluid is pres
ented. The scheme allows the calculation of dynamic rigid motions as w
ell as deformations of magnetic and anti-magnetic materials in a magne
tic field. The equations governing the magnetic, mechanical and acoust
ic field quantities are solved using a combined Finite-Element-Boundar
y-Element-Method (FEM-BEM), resulting in a seperation of the stationar
y and the moving parts of the structure. Therewith, the well known pro
blem of mesh distortion in finite element techniques due to moving par
ts can be avoided, A computer simulation of a magnetomechanical transd
ucer immersed in an acoustic fluid (acoustic power source) is presente
d demonstrating the efficiency of the developed algorithm.
