Abstract
Covering stacks of spruce firewood with either clear or black polyethy lene sheeting does not raise log temperatures high enough to kill spru ce beetle brood in the logs. Based on the results of this study, we do not recommend the use of polyethylene sheeting as a remedial measure for the reduction of spruce beetle brood in infested firewood or log d ecks in south-central Alaska.
