Abstract
This paper describes a hybrid approach of the finite element method an d the boundary type solutions, i.e. the Trefftz method and the boundar y element method, for analyzing the magnetic field in rotating machine s. This approach has the advantage of obtaining continuous physical qu antities precisely without the singularities in calculating boundary i ntegrals. Its application to a concrete model is also presented.
