G. Pantis et al., DISPERSIVE CORRECTION TO THE P-16 OPTICAL-MODEL AND THE EFFECTIVE NUCLEON-NUCLEON POTENTIAL(O), Nuclear physics. A, 559(2), 1993, pp. 266-276
We show, for p+O-16 scattering in the energy range of 23.4 to 52.5 MeV
, that taking dispersion relations into account in a single-channel re
sonating-group model description requires a modification of the parame
ters of the effective nucleon-nucleon force. Adding the polarization p
otential calculated from the dispersion relation to the equivalent loc
al potential of the resonating group nonlocal interaction gives a subs
tantially better fit to the elastic-scattering cross section data, com
pared with previous comparable phenomenological analyses, and this est
ablishes the usefulness and validity of the dispersion-relation analys
is.
