Abstract
The effect of crystallization on the mechanism of PET drawing in activ e liquid environments was studied. The drawing of PET in the solvents, which induce its crystallization, is shown to proceed via the mechani sm of delocalized crazing. The drawing of thermally crystallized PET i n the same environments follows the mechanism of classical crazing. Th e ability of the liquid environment to penetrate into the polymer is f ound to control the mechanism of polymer drawing in contact with inter active environments.
