Flow of liquid two-dimensional system of elliptic particles was invest
igated using computer imitation. Typical features of the liquid state
are: low yield stress, the number of interparticle contacts and the vo
lume of the system do not change during flow, local strains are unifor
m. The mechanism of shear strain in the liquid state is the particles
rotation. A relationship between the average particle orientation and
shear strain of the system in solid state is determined.
