Abstract
The equilibrium swelling in methyl methacrylate (MMA) of poly(methyl m ethacrylate) (PMMA) and poly(butyl acrylate) (PBA) latices obtained in the presence of allyl methacrylate (AMA) was studied by the method of static centrifugation. Reducing particle sizes and introducing a cros slinking agent resulted in lower swelling. The polymer-monomer interac tion parameters, interfacial tension, and molecular masses of moieties between the crosslinks of a polymer network were determined.
