Abstract
New polymers and modified natural polymers have emerged to meet the ev er growing needs of macromolecules in biomedical and pharmaceutical ap plications. This paper describes approaches that have been recently em ployed towards modification of biologically active proteins, use of co polymerization as a technique to modulate the biological performance o f absorbable polymers and new synthetic methods for polymeric drugs.
