Abstract
A case of congenital defect in an abortus is described and the forensi c implications of unawareness of childhood artefactual abnormalities w hich may appear to have a cryptogenic criminal etiology are reiterated . This is apparently the first case reported in which gastroschisis ha d been misconceived to be criminal abortion.
