Abstract
Experiments on the Rb-87 maser with both ends pumping showed variation s of the maximum output power versus cell temperature. The largest out put power was 2.0 x 10(-10) W, and a preliminary measurement gave an i mproved short-term frequency stability. The results of the numerical c alculations based on the density matrix formalism agreed qualitatively with the experiments.
