Abstract
The proximity of the solutions of the transcendental equation tanh z/z = c on the complex plane arising in the determination of the complex dielectric permittivity with the short-circuited line method is studie d. A numerical procedure is described which is capable of obtaining th e required number of solutions, even those lying very close to each ot her, from one single initial point. The method is applied to measureme nts of various organic liquids.
