Abstract
The bending behaviour of sandwich beams with a glass-fibre-reinforced polyester core has been investigated analytically and experimentally. Sandwich beams consist of upper and lower aluminium skins and a soft c ore. Specimens were loaded under three-point bending conditions. Four different skin treatments and three different core materials were appl ied in order to study the effect of these parameters on the overall be nding behaviour. A great number of specimens were manufactured and the oretical predictions were correlated with respective experimental find ings.
