Abstract
We calculate the attenuation or flexural-like elastic modes due to the ir interaction with charge carriers in layered conducting crystals. Th e square dispersion law of such waves as well as the quasi-2D-characte r of the electron energy spectrum leads to an unusual frequency depend ence of attenuation rate.
