DANAILA,NEGOITA - A PIONEER IN THE ROMANI AN CHEMICAL-INDUSTRY

Professor Dr.Eng.Negoita Danila (1878-1953) from the Bucharest Polytec hnic Institute was a pioneer in the development of the chemical indust ry in Romania. The studies performed in the period 1936-1939, under th e sponsorship of the National Banck of Romania, have shown that - cons idering the raw material resources available at the time and the futur e requirements - Romania should develop a chemical industry capable to meet the domestic requirement. Professor Danaila's provisions are act ual even now, representing a model of marketing and prognosis studies which were the basis for the development of the chemical industry in R omania.
