Abstract
An experimental study describing the mechanisms of drying of a thick l ayer of natural crumb rubber is presented. The evolution of the temper ature profiles of the crumb and profiles of temperature and relative h umidity of intergranular air and water content of crumb are presented. These evolutions enable understanding of the internal mechanisms invo lved and lead to practical recommendations for the management of indus trial driers.
