Abstract
We report results showing that arbitrarily close to any spatially unif orm equilibrium of the one-dimensional Vlasov-Maxwell equations for co llisionless plasmas there exist ''act traveling solitary wave and trav eling periodic wave solutions which, by virtue of particle trapping, n either damp nor grow even when their amplitude is arbitrarily small.
