Abstract
Two unprecedented decompositions of tertiary hydroperoxides by Cu(II) in CH3CN have been encountered : deoxygenation of 4- hydroperoxy cyclo hexa 2,5- dienones 1 and 2 brings chemical support to the existence of intermediate peroxy radicals R-00. 1' and 2'.
