Steady-state photoconductivity measurements in solid C60 films are rep
orted. The observed action spectra are antibatic with the absorption s
pectrum and show well-resolved structure in the long-wavelength tail a
bove 500 nm. They are analyzed in terms of the recombination limit mod
el for the bulk-generated charge carriers. It is concluded that photoc
arrier production occurs by autoionization of localized intramolecular
excited states.
