Mv. Twigg et Jt. Richardson, REDUCTION OF NICKEL-OXIDE ON ALPHA-ALUMINA - COALESCENCE OF NICKEL TOMETALLIC CRYSTALLITES, Catalysis letters, 20(3-4), 1993, pp. 299-303
Reduction of alpha-alumina-supported nickel oxide was studied with hyd
rogen consumption, magnetization and XRD measurements. Rupture of Ni-O
bonds at 270-350-degrees-C is much faster than nucleation of metallic
nickel and precedes growth into crystallites. Water vapor and low hyd
rogen flows retard both processes. At higher temperatures, growth is m
ore rapid than Ni-O bond rupture.
