Abstract
The rotating disc method was used to investigate the kinetics of disso lution of Trona, Na2CO3.NaHCO3.H2O, in NaOH solution. The reaction rat e was measured by monitoring the conductivity changes of the solution. Under laminar flow, the dissolution rate is proportional to the squar e root of stirring rate, and to NaOH concentration. The kinetics was m odeled according to rotating disc hydrodynamics and film theory.
