Ab. Seddon et Ma. Hemingway, THERMAL CHARACTERIZATION OF INFRARED-TRANSMITTING GE-S-I GLASSES, Journal of non-crystalline solids, 161, 1993, pp. 323-326
Ge-S-I glasses have been prepared. As I is increased, so the glass tra
nsformation temperature and onset temperature of mass loss decrease. M
elt viscosities, in the range 10(7)-10(10.7) Pa s, have been determine
d via penetration viscometry, and isoviscous points are at a lower tem
perature as I increases. The viscosity results are discussed in relati
on to melt fragility and structure.
