TRANSFORMATION OF THE 1ST ZIRCONOCENE ALKYNE COMPLEX WITHOUT AN ADDITIONAL PHOSPHANE LIGAND INTO A DINUCLEAR SIGMA-ALKENYL COMPLEX BY HYDROGEN-TRANSFER FROM ETA(5)-C5H5 TO THE ALKYNE LIGAND

The agostic interaction between the alkenyl CH groups and the Zr cente
rs is the most notable feature of the dinuclear complex 1, which is fo
rmed from the alkyne complex [Cp2Zr(thf)(Me3SiC=CSiMe3)] upon thermal
loss of THF. In this transformation a H atom is transferred from the C
p ligand to the alkyne ligand.
