Gv. Kuznetsov, HIGH-TEMPERATURE FAILURE OF RUBBER-LIKE HEAT-SHIELDING MATERIALS UNDER CONDITIONS OF HIGH-PRESSURE, High temperature, 34(6), 1996, pp. 905-909
Results are given of experimental studies into basic regularities of h
igh-temperature failure of a rubberlike heat-shielding material at hig
h pressure. Comparison is made of the experimental and theoretical res
ults for the model of thermochemical destruction of heat-shielding mat
erial, leading to the conclusion that, under conditions of high pressu
re, the carryover of mass of heat-shielding material occurs mainly as
a result of thermomechanical destruction under the effect of tangentia
l friction stresses of gas flow flowing in parallel with the surface b
eing heated. A physical model is proposed of the process of high-tempe
rature failure of heat-shielding material under conditions of high pre
ssures.
