Abstract
Description of the female (with figures) and the egg (with SEM microgr aphs) of Nemopalpus flavus Macquart, 1838. Males and females were catc hed in Tenerife (Canary Islands) in 1991-1992. Comparison of the morph ological features shows that the subfamily of Bruchomyinae is the sist er group of Phlebotominae.
