Abstract
The solubility parameter delta2 and its components of broad and narrow distributed alcohol oxyethylates were determined by inverse gas chrom atography. Corrected values of the solubility parameter delta(T) were calculated from the increments of the solubility parameter correspondi ng to different types of intermolecular solute-solvent interactions. T he corrected value of solubility parameter is always lower than that o btained directly from Guillet and co-workers' procedure. The influence of the structure of the examined oxyethylates on the solubility param eter and its components is discussed. Narrow range distributed oxyethy lates are characterized by lower values of the solubility parameters t han broad range products, but the difference decreases with increase i n the average oxyethylation ratio. The increase in the length of oxyet hylene chain increases the solubility parameter. The solubility parame ter decreases with increase in temperature. Temperature and structural dependences of the solubility parameter increments are also presented and discussed. Relationships between the solubility parameter, correc ted solubility parameter, its components and polarity parameters are e xamined.
