Jl. Justine, ULTRASTRUCTURE OF THE MONOGENEA - LISTS O F INVESTIGATED SPECIES AND ORGANS, Bulletin francais de la peche et de la pisciculture, (328), 1993, pp. 156-188
Bibliographical data (more than 180 references) concerning the ultrast
ructure of monogeneans in scanning electron microscopy (SEM) or transm
ission electron microscopy (TEM) are presented in two lists. The speci
es list indicates for each species the organs which have been describe
d in electron microscopy and the reference; more than 60 monopisthocot
ylean species and 70 polyopisthocotylean species are cited. The organ
list indicates for each organ the species studied and the references.
The structures are classified into: 1. External organs (external morph
ology in SEM, tegument, tegumentary receptors, photoreceptors, glands,
haptoral hard pieces). 2. Non-reproductive internal organs (digestive
apparatus, protonephridia, nerve cells). 3. Reproductive organs (male
genital ducts, female genital ducts, oogenesis and eggs, eggs in SEM,
vitellogenesis, spermiogenesis and sperm). 4. Parasites and symbionts
(microsporidia, bacteria and other procaryotes, viruses). Studies con
cerning miracidia or larvae are indicated.
