Abstract
Two systems: Co(II)-glycyl-L-histidine and Co(II)-L-histidylglycine ha ve been investigated in comparison with Co(II)-L-histidine. The studie s under both oxygen-free and pure oxygen conditions revealed significa nt differences between the two systems within the complexation mechani sm and oxygen uptake power. The CoLH-1 active complex (where L = glycy l-L-histidine) proved to be an efficient dioxygen carrier (approximate ly 80 % reversibility).
