Eh. Harrell et al., PREDICTION OF WAIS-R PERFORMANCE-BASED ON THE LURIA-NEBRASKA NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL BATTERY FORM-II IN A PSYCHIATRIC POPULATION, Psychology, 30(2), 1993, pp. 44-48
Multiple regression equations for predicting summary IQ scores using t
he Luria Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery Form II were similar to t
hose previously reported for Form I. However, when the Impairment scal
e, which is not available on Form I, was entered in the analysis, it w
as found to account for more variance than the Intellectual Processes
Scale. After entry of the Impairment Scale no other scale accounted fo
r significant variance. Classification of patients into four categorie
s of IQ indicated that Form II like Form I can be sufficiently accurat
e in predicting WAIS-R scores to be useful clinically. These findings
raise the possibility that administering only the Impairment Scale may
allow accurate classification and a quick estimate of WAIS-R IQ measu
res.
