Abstract
Dialkylphenacylsulfonium salt undergose photoinduced transformation in to an ylide form with concomitant release of anion. As this transforma tion is reversible, we prepared oil-soluble dibutyl(4-methoxyphenacyl) sulfonium percholorate (3), which in 1,2-dichloroethane showed an abil ity to control perchlorate concentration of the aqueous phase in the o rganic/aqueous tow-phase system by UV-irradiation. Photo-driven active transport of perchlorate through an organic layer by 3 as a carrier w as also examined.
