Abstract
The electronic absorption spectra of some chromium(IV) complexes as th e products of chromyl chloride and chromyl acetate reaction with alkyl aromatics have been studied in some organic solvents. A detailed compu ter analysis of the spectra including resolution into component bands as well as calculation of crystal field parameter Dq, Racah's paramete r B and Franck-Condon analysis of the vibronically structured charge-t ransfer O-Cr band have been performed. The solvent effect on the Dq pa rameter has been established.
