Abstract
Mycoplasma spp. are common microbial pathogens isolated from pneumonic bovine lungs. The presence of mycoplasma along with other bacterial p athogens appears to complicate the empirical use of antibiotics in the treatment of bovine respiratory disease (BRD). Food animal practition ers still do not have Dr. Ehrlich's ''magic bullets.'' The clinician n eeds to obtain an accurate diagnosis with culture and sensitivity and institute early and adequate antibiotic therapy following documented p harmacology of the antimicrobial.
