Abstract
Effect of photo-irradiation on the autocatalytic oxidation of [Ru(bpy) 3]Cl2 by acidic bromate has been investigated in a continuous-flow sti rred tank reactor. The photo-induced bifurcation structure and phase d iagram have been determined. It is shown that, for a certain range of the bromate concentration, the photo-irradiation can either promote or inhibit the autocatalytic oxidation of [Ru(bpy)3]2+ depending on the irradiation light power.
