Abstract
The present state of knowledge on the porcine reproductive and respira tory syndrome (PRRS) is reviewed. Some properties of the causative PRR S virus are presented. Attention is given to the epidemiology of PRRS. The clinical course and the present knowledge on the pathogenesis, pa thology and immunology of PRRS are described. Also, the methods curren tly used for virological and serological diagnosis are given.
