Abstract
A carbon-bridged hane-exo,exo,anti-1,12-dimethyl[1.1]ferrocenophane (1 a)-has been identified for the first time, and its molecular structure has been determined by x-ray diffraction. Stable anti conformers of c arbon-bridged [1.1]ferrocenophanes have previously been ruled out beca use of steric strain.
