The report describes the break-out of EHV-1-infection in a whole group
of horses. Of 20 sick horses 7 horses had partly massive neurological
disturbances. The greatest problem was ataxia of the back legs and pa
ralysis of the bladder. The symptoms, course and therapy are described
. In the case of one patient slight signs of an ataxia of the back leg
s remained. In the remaining horses, a complete recovery from the illn
ess was achieved.
