Abstract
The effects of fourth-order dispersion on optical-fiber-guided ultrash ort solitons are examined. It is shown that the solitons decay as a re sult of dispersive radiation, the nature of which is analyzed. An exac t pulse solution is presented, and its properties are evaluated. Final ly, the combined effects of fourth-order dispersion and intrapulse Ram an scattering are discussed.
