SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF CATALYSTS THROUGH A SINGLE CATALYTIC KINETIC RUN

A method for the simultaneous determination of catalysts through a sin gle kinetic run is proposed. It is based on the difference in the appa rent orders p(i) of the indicator reaction catalysed by each catalyst. The concentration of each catalyst can be deduced by multiple linear regression of the reaction rate v versus A(Pi), where A is the concent ration of the reactant, which changes with time. The Savitzky-Golay co nvolution method is used for calculating the reaction rate. As an exam ple, Ru and Os have been determined on the basis of their catalytic ef fects on the indicator reaction between Ce(IV) and As(III).
