Ea. Lavrinovich et al., USE OF PARA-TERTBUTYLPHENOLFORMALDEHYDE OLIGOMER TO EXTRACT ACTINIDESFROM COMPLEXANT SOLUTIONS AT HIGH PH, Radiochemistry, 35(2), 1993, pp. 202-204
The extraction of Am(III), Cm(III), Pu(IV), Th(IV), Eu(III), and Fe(II
I) by the oxygen-containing oligomer of alkylphenol (BPFO) in the pres
ence of various complexants is studied. Trivalent actinides and Eu(III
) are quantitatively extracted by BPFO in toluene from carbonate, acet
ate, and oxalate solutions over a broader pH range than by BAPFO and B
PDS. The trivalent elements can be separated from Pu(IV), Th(IV), and
Fe(III) by varying the solution basicity and aqueous complexant concen
tration. It is advisable to use these systems to analyze various extra
cts obtained by selective extraction of radionuclides from soils.
