Mj. Parker et R. Janes, THE SYNTHESIS OF CUPRATE SUPERCONDUCTORS VIA A DUAL-PRECIPITATION ROUTE, Journal of Materials Science, 28(16), 1993, pp. 4515-4517
A precipitation technique is described which is used to produce high-q
uality samples of superconducting YBa2Cu3O7 (T(c) = 91 K). The method
makes use of two precipitation stages using hydroxide and oxalate as t
he precipitants. The precipitate is in the form of a fine particulate
powder, which is an intimate mixture of the three cations in their pre
cipitant form, enabling efficient formation of the superconducting pha
se; this is, we believe, a viable approach for circumventing the inher
ent drawbacks of the well-established oxalate route.
