Abstract
We consider an appropriate class of locally finite closed coverings of spaces, for which the strong shape of the elements of the covering an d of their intersections determine the strong shape of the whole space . Conclusions concerning shape dimension and spaces having the strong shape of CW-complexes are drawn, and a Leray spectral sequence for str ong homology is given.
