Hexamethyleniminecarbodithioate complexes of the type M(HMICdt)n, wher
e M is a metal, Pb(II), Bi(III), Ti(IV), Se(IV), Th(IV), UO2(VI) or Mo
O2(VI), n is the valency of the metal, and HMICdt is hexamethylenimine
carbodithioate, have been synthesized and characterized. In these comp
lexes, the dithio (CSS-) group exhibits univalent, bidentate character
and coordinates symmetrically with the metal through the bisulfur for
k. Thermogravimetric studies indicate that there is an initial endothe
rmic reaction, followed by an exothermic reaction. The heat of volatil
ization and dissociation were calculated from the TG curves.
