Abstract
Synthesis of beta-chloroferroceneacroleins and beta,beta'-dichloroferr ocenediacroleins starting from acetyl-, 1,1'-diacetyl, 1-phenylacetyl- and 1,1'-diphenylacetylferrocene is described. The alpha-phenyl deriv atives of beta-chloroferroceneacroleins were prepared as the mixture o f E,Z; E,E and Z,Z isomers. All ferroceneacroleins were isolated in pu re state and their configuration was elucidated by means of H-1- and C -13 NMR spectroscopy and also confirmed by quantum chemical calculatio ns. The acid catalysed E/Z isomerisation of the alpha-phenyl-beta-chlo roferroceneacroleins and diacroleins was observed and briefly studied.
