Abstract
The systems development game is changing. In fact, if it ever was a ga me, it is no longer. Companies are adopting advanced tools, such as de sign repositories and code generators and are applying them with innov ative techniques such as Automated Joint Applications Development (AJA D) and Rapid Applications Development (RAD). Companies are also adjust ing to the impact of client/server architectures on the structure of t heir organizations as well as on the development tools and techniques they use. Infrastructure adjustments must be made to accommodate the n ew order. Development Centers (DCs) represent one of the organizationa l adjustments required by companies to manage the transition.
