Abstract
In continuation of an educational endeavor initiated in 1992 with the presentation of William Beaumont Hospital's first DNA symposium, physi cians, laboratorians, and technologists gathered at the hospital on Ma rch 1, 1993 to discuss current trends and new directions in DNA techno logy as applied to the clinical setting. The results are reported in t his special issue Of Laboratory Medicine.
