Rf. Desouza et al., DICATIONIC NICKEL-COMPLEXES - NEW CATALYST PRECURSORS FOR SELECTIVE ETHYLENE DIMERIZATION TO BUT-1-ENE, New journal of chemistry, 17(7), 1993, pp. 437-438
Ethylene is selectively dimerized into butenes by the action of Ni(MeC
N)6(BF4)2 1 and alkylaluminum compounds (AlEt3 or AlEt2Cl). Under homo
geneous phase reaction conditions, this system shows high activity (TO
R = 2 451 h-1) and selectivity to C4 products (97%) under mild conditi
ons (10 bar, 50-degrees-C). Anchoring 1 on Amberlyst-15 resin strongly
increases the selectivity for but-1-ene (up to 96%).
