Abstract
Cinnamyltrimethylsilane underwent desilylation via one-electron oxidat
ion with VO(OEt)Cl2, which was applied to the cross-coupling with the
less oxidizable allylic silanes to give the corresponding 1,5-hexadien
es. Chlorination or aromatization based on desilylation was observed o
n treatment of benzyltrimethylsilane or -methyl-5-trimethylsilyl-5-phe
nyl-4,5-dihydrofuran with VO(OEt)Cl2-Me3SiOTf, respectively.
