Novel hexa-coordinated mixed-ligand complexes of copper(II) and cobalt
(II) of the general formula [M(SB)(L-L)(H2O)], where L=L = 2'- PYBZ, H
OEPS or 2'-APBX and SB = hbzaa2- for M = Cu(II), L-L = ECAP, CHPHM, 2'
-PYBZ or HOEPS and SB = hbzaa2- for M = Co(II), and L-L = CHPHM or 2'-
PYBZ and SB = hbzat2- for M = Co(II), have been synthesized by refluxi
ng the respective metal salt/schiff base/heterocyclic organic donor in
ethanol. The resulting complexes have been characterized on the basis
of analytical data, conductance and magnetic measurements and infrare
d spectral studies. Suitable octahedral structures have been proposed
for these complexes.
