J. Kotaskova, LOCUS OF CONTROL AND PERSONALITY - ANALYS IS OF THE NEW METHOD CAMI, AND CHILDREN CROSS - CULTURAL COMPARISONS, Ceskoslovenska psychologie, 36(6), 1992, pp. 517-543
Description and statistical verification of CAMI (Control, Agency, and
Means-ends Beliefs) used in Czech sample (1217 children in age 7-14,
coming froin 4 Prague schools) strives for concept validisation of the
structures and vectors used. The second part of the study demonstrate
s three data comparisons of Czech and German (once also East- and West
German) children based on studies published until now. Differences (e
specially remarkable in dimensions of Agency Beliefs vector) are hypot
hetically interpreted with respect to political/ethnical background, a
nd to the present educational and cultural environment of children in
both samples. Probable impacts on motivational characteristics and sel
f-concept specifics coming from short-term and/or long-term, tradition
al life experiences, in the Czech children population are discussed.
