Abstract
Control synthesis for a multilink transport mechanism is considered. T he system can be used as a model of the motion of fishes, snakes, and other vertebrates that move by body bending. Expressions are derived f or the maximum velocity and for the sequence of directrices on which t he velocities converge to the maximum velocity.
